Has a Writer for the G.I. Joe RoC Sequel Been Hired? *Updated*
According to Collider.com which is reporting that a writer has been hired for the sequel to the 2009 live-action G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie. Steve “Frosty” Weintraub of Collider reports that a writer has been hired and production is moving forward. Thanks to Mercer of JBL for the heads up.
Back in August, we reported Paramount’s Vice Chairman Rob Moore said a sequel would soon go into development. Since that time, the studio has provided no updates for fans.
But thanks to some very reliable sources, I can report a screenwriter has been hired for G.I. Joe 2 (or whatever it’s going to be called) and Paramount is definitely moving forward with the project.
UPDATE: According to Collider.com, Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired to write a screenplay for G.I. Joe 2.
As I said last night, a writer has been hired for G.I. Joe 2. What I didn’t know was…I should have said WRITERS. Thanks to a great source, I can report Zombieland’s Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are writing the sequel to G.I. Joe! This is on top of the recently announced news that they’re writing Deadpool for 20th Century Fox.
