Review of IDW’s G.I. Joe: Origins #13
Terror Drome staff member joshdahl has reviewed this week’s G.I. Joe: Origins #13 for you. The first issue of a 2-part story focuses on Wallace Weems, aka Ripcord. I think most fans can agree that Ripcord has been the focal point of much controversy this past year and to most, it is not good. But that aside, what is IDW’s version of Ripcord like? Written by Scott Beatty and art by SL Gallant, we get the story of Ripcord’s “rebirth” and we find a familiar friend that IDW is hoping fans will like. So read Josh’s review to find out what he thinks of this issue and be sure to pick it up tomorrow, March 10th at your local comic shop. There are two covers, one by Gallant and the other by fan favorite Tom Feister.
“He makes jokes throughout the issue, but he is no Marlon Wayans. He is simply the new comic version of the character. Just like all of the other characters in the new comics are the new comics versions of themselves.”
