hasbro-smile-logo-2009-whiteWell we have finally received our answers to the May 2011 Round 2 of G.I. Joe Q&A’s with the Hasbro’s G.I. Joe design team. Submitted to Hasbro last month, from a pool of questions asked by Drome readers and members, we sent in three (3) of those questions to see what Hasbro’s G.I. Joe design team had to say. Well we received answers to two out of the three and they are below. So check them out! We also will be updating our Hasbro G.I. Joe Q&A Round-Up Directory or you can check GeneralsJoes handy list too!

1 — At JoeCon there were several cancelled figures and vehicles shown, and some images of these have made it to the boards. With massive response from the fans…it was asked to us would we like a few of these to be produced. Can you tell us if any progress on those items (like the Iron Grenadier 5-Pack, and the Arctic Baroness) has been made?

The cancelled figures and vehicles that were shown and made their way onto the boards were part of a presentation that was made at JoeCon called “From the Vault”. The intent was to give fans an inside look into what gets left behind. It was never intended to get fans expectations up about possible releases, so no, we have not made any progress on these items.

2 — Will the zombie storyline be seen in/used for any of the other figures?

Unanswered.

3 — Has there ever been a situation that arose where the factory made a mistake in a paint application or something to that effect, and when said figure was sent back for approval the design team liked it more than the original and kept the “mistake”?

Yes, there has been actually. What a strange question! In 2009, an all-black version of the Para Vipers was released. His hoses were originally supposed to be a clear color, and the factory mistook the image and made them silver. We liked the silver, and kept it that way.

It’s funny they thought the question on paint apps was strange, that’s actually an excellent question!

I know. I thought it was the kind of question they really want us to submit anyways. Instead of all the semi-cryptic ones that we (try to) send to see if they’ll tell us about any upcoming figures or product.
