Definitely an exciting time for Joe fans, with so many great options of different media opportunities going on. With the 30th Anniversary toy line finishing up, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation toy about to hit retail in a couple of months; the G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie coming in June, a bunch of great G.I. Joe comic titles from IDW Publishing and more.
Along with all that in the last year we’ve seen some interesting G.I. Joe fan tie-ins with a musical and a fan film, Operation Red Retrieval. Now we can look to add to that list another fan film, G.I. JOE: INITIATE. The guys involved have a huge love for the G.I. Joe brand and want to do a project in vein of the recent Mortal Kombat web series (gritty realism). I’ve had the pleasure of reading an early draft of the script, and all I can say is, this is going to be one hell of a ride!
