I posted this to the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Info & Resource Page a few days ago, but I figured I should post it in the forums too. The latest issue of ICG (International Cinematographers Guild) Magazine &madsh; June 2012 — features Snake Eyes on the cover. It is a great shot of outfit that Ray Park wears in the movie. I’ve mirrored the cover image below.
There is also a feature story, “Men of Action” with some interesting things about filming G.I. Joe Retaliation are discussed. Including how director Jon Chu and stunt coordinator Paul Borne did choreographing of the ninja cliff side fight by using G.I. Joe figures on a couch.
“We had to do previs to get everyone on the same page,” Chu says. “I worked with a great mountain climber [and stunt coordinator] Paul Borne. We grabbed a bunch of G.I. Joes and used the couch to make a set [to determine] the timing and physics of how it would work. We had to block how the ninjas and bad guys would fall, how they’d zip-line. It was hilarious.”
Even though this is an industry magazine — more for insiders, than fans — the article is definitely worth checking out.
