Over at GeekWeek they have revealed the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive G.I. Joe figure, Sgt. Slaughter! The figure will come in two variations, one will be paying homage to the mail-away version of Sarge and the other paying homage to the version that came with the Triple T. So what do you think? Did Hasbro due Sarge justice? Aside from the hat not being removable, I have to say the “variant” version looks pretty good.
While the primary figure and the variant figure each come equipped with a whistle and non-removable hat, there are also special accessories exclusive to each version.
The PRIMARY FIGURE will include a belt, baton and microphone.
The VARIANT FIGURE is packaged with a machine gun and revolver.
For those of you who are wishing Hasbro would release the Battle Force 2000 team with some 25th Anniversary tooling, well you can probably keep wishing. Terror Drome staff member joshdahl brings us another fine review. This time he is reviewing Recondo from the online exclusive “Attack on Cobra Island” 7-Pack. What seemed like a “book end” to the 25th Anniversary, Hasbro gave us a 7-pack filled with some fan favorites and Recondo was very high up on everyone’s list. So what does Josh think of it? How does the figure hold up?
Recondo has always been a fan favorite. He’s a specialist in an environment where we all liked to have missions. He’s like Snow Job, but you can use him more often. Just look at your “Original 13″ Joes. The are almost all wearing green. They are dressed for jungle missions, not arctic missions. And who do they call on for those missions? Recondo!
TerrorDrome member Carnage717 has posted some great re-imaginings of the classic Argentinian Glenda figure, as well as the highly sought after Brazilian Cobra de Aço. Both figures were given a Rise of Cobra theme, making for some very imaginative and original creations. Glenda is a mixture of a few figures including Helix and Baroness, and the de Aço is a clever repaint of the Delta 6 Accelerator suit. In addition to the visual re-imaginig, the de Aço was given a nice back story explaining his “souped up” appearance.
Notpicard of JoeIntel was lucky enough to get his hands on a few gems. First off, we have the infamousTiger Force Roadblock that was rumored to be released in the 15th wave of the 25th Anniversary line. Not only was Notpicard lucky enough to get his hands on this guy, he was able to get a fully painted prototype. Next up, we have a couple Python-Patrol Figures. The Python-Patrol Tele-Viper figure has turned up various over seas sites throughout the months, but the more interesting find here is the Python-Patrol Trooper. To date, there has been no rumor or even mention of this figure, so its presences raises a few questions. Could some sort of “Sub-Team” packs be in the works, or could these just be long lost gems that made it to the hands of a lucky collector? This is surely something to think about for the next Hasbro Q&A.
Terror Drome member Airborne Rigger posted his latest custom, a 25th Anniversary styleCross Hair. This figure is made up from various custom and existing parts, along with some beautiful paint apps. He also did a handmade ghillie suit.
