Airtight by Airtight, Final Custom of the Week Honoree for August!

Posted by CAPT. GRID-IRON on Sunday, August 29th, 2010

cow-feature-iconWrapping up our Custom of the Week Honoree’s for August, is this fantastic “Cartoon accurate” style Airtight by member Airtight. Here is what Airtight had to say about the project,

“Unlike many other customizers, I am not a fan of strictly adhering to every single pointless detail of the original figure’s design, and I instead enjoy the challenge of using newer parts and unique designs coupled with familiar color schemes to achieve a solid look with a new and much more modern-looking “skin”. Hope you guys enjoy him and I’d love to hear your feedback.”

Posted by CAPT. GRID-IRON on Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

cow-feature-iconThis weeks first Custom of The Week honoree, is a Female Tele-Viper by Bad Sociologist. This figure is painted with flawless precision, and looks like it came straight from the factory. I know many of us would give our left leg to have Hasbro release a figure like this. Here is what Bad Sociologist had to say about it:

“I built a new female TV using the head and torso from Trigate and I decided to have some fun with the extra parts…”

Custom Psyche Out by LETAL, Custom of the Week Honoree!

Posted by CAPT. GRID-IRON on Friday, August 13th, 2010

cow-feature-icon This weeks second Custom of Week Honoree is Psyche Out by member LETAL. He really puts the parts to good work in this piece. Here is what he had to say about making the custom!

“I tried to pay homage to the ARAH version, keeping the colors, updating his equipment. I think that every joe-especialist must be an amazing warrior/fighter/soldier, so for Psyche-Out I gave him, along with the psychic warfare, the ability to be a master with especial pistols and revolvers.

I felt during the 25th Line the figures were too alike they ARAH versions, my personal wish were that they made figures that you could recognize instantly as the classic ones but with something new, in that sense I loved the 1st single carded version of Zartan as an example.”

Protoxero’s Female Cobra Viper Customs!

Posted by CAPT. GRID-IRON on Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

cow-feature-iconStarting this month the Terror Drome’s Custom of the Week contest will be featuring two customs each week during the month as our honorees, that will comprise the eight finalists you the members of the site will choose from in the Custom of the Month “vote off” at the end of the month. First up are these fantastic “Female Cobra Vipers” from member Protoxero. Here is what he had to say about some of the process of creating these customs.

“protoxero

We all know that cobra has little to no female forces, but that is not the case in my joe verse. thees two female vipers are sisters that were just mean and nasty enuff to join cobra as some of there top vipers. i had one heck of a time making them each, but it was fun. with my dremel in hand and some paint i went to work, only parts i will say i used are vipers and helix’s the rest of the other parts are my secret. each of thees two figs took me only a few days to finish as for when i get on a custom i tend to want to knock it out ASAP.
