G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra Game Online at Hasbro’s Monkeybar TV

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

gijoe-2010-pursuit-of-cobra-logoHasbro has posted a Flash based G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra game over at their Monkeybar TV. Just like the theme of the Fall 2010 toy line, you are chasing after Cobra around the world in City Strike, Jungle Assault, Desert Battle and Arctic Threat missions. It is not bad for a side-scrolling game and considering that it is a Flash, the game play is kind of fun. Some levels are a little harder than others. I’m not sure if you change characters during the levels or not, but you do start out as Recondo in a G.I. Joe Steel Marauder mech during the “Jungle Assault” mission, as Helix during the “City Strike” mission, as Dusty using the Delta 6 Flight Suit (what Desert Battle Ripcord was to come with) during the “Desert Battle” mission and as Snow Job in a Rockslide ATAV during the “Arctic Threat” mission. It is definitely a little something to do, to pass the time. So head on over to Hasbro’s Monkeybar TV and check it out. Thanks to Justin @ GeneralsJoes for the heads up.

Next Webisode of Hasbro’s “Operation H.I.S.S.” Now Available Online

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

operation-hiss-logoWell yesterday was the first Friday of the month and that means another webisode of Hasbro’s Operation H.I.S.S. web series. So head on over to Hasbro’s site to watch another minute and 45 seconds of next installment of Operation H.I.S.S.. Part 2 features Duke and Heavy Duty in a jungle looking for Cobra and what do they find? A Terror Drome and Vipers! Hasbro appears to have posted the wrong video online on Friday. They have since corrected that and have posted the “Arctic” mission instead of the “Jungle” one originally posted. In the “Arctic” mission we see the team investigating a Cobra base/factory in the Arctic and inside they find Destro and Baroness waiting for them. Follow the link previously posted to watch this episode.

Done as a “bridge” between The Rise of Cobra and the next line of G.I. Joe, The Pursuit of Cobra, Hasbro has created a low budget web series called Operation H.I.S.S.; where the Joes are chasing Cobra around the world trying to stop them from building a new weapon, the H.I.S.S. Tank! So go check out the series on Hasbro’s “MonkeyBar TV” and let us know what you think.

The Pursuit of Cobra — From Joe Con to Toy Fair — What Changed?

Monday, February 15th, 2010

gijoe-2010-pursuit-of-cobra-logoSix months ago to the day, we were introduced to the next “evolution” of G.I. Joe at the 2009 Joe Con. Hasbro during the 3-day event, debuted The Pursuit of Cobra (a sub-line theme to the movie line The Rise of Cobra) to G.I. Joe fans and fans were excited about what they saw.

As time went by fans were wondering when we would start to hear more information about The Pursuit of Cobra line. We began to see some of the first wave show up on eBay from overseas sellers. Most of Wave 1, with the exception of “Arctic Threat” Duke & Destro had shown up for sale by this time. Then during the 5th round of Hasbro Q&A’s, Hasbro let on that the line was delayed and would be delayed until Fall 2010. A 9-month delay. Fans understandably started to worry about the future of their beloved G.I. Joe brand.

Hasbro Official Images of 2010 Pursuit of Cobra and Resolute Figures & Vehicles

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Toy Fair 2010 LogoHasbro has sent out official images for the 2010 Pursuit of Cobra line-up showing the first 2 waves of figures and vehicles. Some of the images shown are the single carded “City Strike” Alley-Viper & “Desert Battle” Dusty figures, along with “City Strike” Beachhead, “Jungle Assault” Jungle-Viper and “Arctic Threat” Snake Eyes. A lot of the 2010 line-up has been retooled from what we saw at last year’s Joe Con. Most notably is the absence of the Rise of Cobra actor likeness. They also sent out images showing the Resolute 7-Packs coming later this year. Both lines were debuted today at Toy Fair 2010 in New York City. You can view the official images after the jump.
