What occurred in your life that led to you stopping collecting gi joes? Or did you never really stop collecting them?

i just became distracted with other things,then 20 some years later um collecting again....

I started to think I was too old for them and maybe I could make a little money off of them. I was selling figures to the neighbor kids at 3 to 4 bucks a pop. Then when I came home one day and my mom had sold them all I instantly regretted it.

Joined the military, when I got out it wasn't the same Joes.

Couldn't find them anymore, they weren't in stores. I've never thought I was too old, okay maybe a bit but I secretly still bought them. But once Joe's weren't sold in stores anymore that kinda killed collecting them until I started buying on Ebay and they hit mass market stores once again.

Power Rangers, Super Human Samurai and Batman grabbed my interest. GI JOE was over, the toon wasnt on tv for me to watch anymore, the toys were out of stores. It sucked but i picked up other toy lines. Then the 15th anniversary hit when I was in High school. Junior year i think it was. Me and mad Joe would ditch class to walk to TRU and buy them.

Then TRU got their own line of gijoe but I didnt bother with those. They werent the originals and the plastic was garbage. I was excited about GvC and SpyTroops and VvV but the figures sucked so hard I never bought any.

Started up again when KB toys got the 25th 5 packs with the music box logo. havent stopped since.

My interest began to taper out in 87. By 88 they just weren't grabbing my interest anymore. I fell out of the loop after that and only learned about the 25th late last year. I've been playing catch up ever since.

I stopped because I felt I was too old at the time and was more interested in girls around 88-89. Started back up again when I saw the 15th Anniversary and haven' stopped since.

Never started until recently. The 25th line was a chance to start. Its like re-living the nostalgic window shopping only days long ago, but now I have the luxury of buying and enjoying 'em. Its cool that you can buy old stuff off ebay these days, but nothing like being able to pick them off the pegs in store.

I never stopped, lulls maybe when no product was on the shelf (my sources being yard sales and occasionally online when that became available) but never, ever stopped.
