Stargate: Universe [SG•U]

Is anybody watching this series? It just started a few weeks ago now. I'm really liking it so far. It does extend the Stargate "universe", but it's unlike the previous SG TV series. This one has a grander feel to it. Almost feels like the SyFy "Battlestar Galactica" series a bit, just not quite as desparaging. I do hope it can maintain the quality and turn into a viable series for SyFy/NBC.

This is different from both of those. Though MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) is in this one periodically. This version of SG is like going back to the first movie that started it all and the discovery of the "Gate". Here they have discovered an "ancient" ship that also uses/has a gate.

Thats cool, i loved the movie. I will have to check it out next time its on.

Ive been a Stargate Fan since the first Season and have watched every season of SG1 and Atlantis. I actually like the different take on SGU and Its still got me interested in the show. Hopefully this show will last longer than Atlantis did.

Yeah, that had to be quite weird on last week's episode. Telford is an ass, so it will be interesting to see what he does. He'll probably pretend to be Col. Young so he can get some action and revenge at Young's expense.

It has alot of potental, its good but I can see this getting bogged down in itself very soon. It was a bit of a stretch to bring Ely aboard too (winning a video game, Last Starfighter anyone?) and the Dr is a bit too remincant of Baltar (also the plot is a bit ST Voyager like).

Still I can see the series working and I am giving it a chance to get past some of the early issues. I think it can.
