200 Episodes of “Troops of Doom” Comic!

community-showcase Today marks the 200th episode of Kraig Furtado’s Troops of Doom comic and in celebration of it, he’s giving you the opportunity to have your name used for a character in upcoming episodes (if you survive that long). You just need to answer a trivia question on his site and submit the answer by April 25th. That simple. Head on over and check out the very funny Troops of Doom comic that features G.I. Joe figures along Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator and some Lego figures. This might seem like an odd sampling, but there is rhyme to the reason. At least I think there is. So if you would like to get your name used on a character in future episodes, join the fun at TroopsOfDoomComic.com and enter!

TerrorDrome’s 1-Year Anniversary Celebration Contest Winners

As most of you have noticed, in celebration for our first anniversary we made a few upgrades to the site. There is nothing like a fresh new look to start out a new year. Though without the support of devoted fans, and the amazing members and staff of this site, none of this would have been possible. To show our appreciation for you guys, we held a contest in which members would create “motivational” posters they think would be found on the walls of The TerrorDrome. With the help of some gracious staff members, we were able to offer some amazing prizes for this contest including a bagged Crimson Strike Team, a complete set of Hall of Heroes figures, and an AFA graded 2008 SDCC Cobra Commander. We had some amazing entries in the contest, and though only 3 were chosen for the prizes, all of them deserve recognition. So from all of the staff at The TerrorDrome, THANK YOU to all who participated. And now on to the prize winners……

First Runner-Up (HoH Set) – Troops of Doom with “Fashion”

In addition to the contest for our members, we also held one for staff as well. Though most of our staff were “too busy” to participate we did get some outstanding entries. Only one staff member was chosen to win this contest, but all who participated are appreciated.

Our First Anniversary!

Today marks our first anniversary here at the Terror Drome. It may not seem like much to many, but to us it means a lot. We’ve grown quite a bit over the last year and have definitely learned a lot in that time. I like to think we’ve come along way since first going “live” September 25th, 2008. And hopefully for the better. Part of the celebration of our anniversary was to redesign the place, give us a stronger look and feel. I have to say, I’m quite happy with it and I hope you are too. Keep in mind this is a 2-part process, the first part being the front-end getting the new look then the forums to follow very soon. We also have a couple more things planned that will be announced soon enough. Also, yesterday marked the deadline for our 1-year anniversary contest. We will be announcing the winners very soon.

So from all of us here, we thank you for a great year and we hope you will continue to help make this site the best it can be.

Customs, Customs, & More Customs!

TerrorDrome members skyhawkpilot1978, and Slaughters_Renegade have both posted some amazing custom projects they have been working on.

First off, we have Night Watch Beachead. This figure was skyhawkpilot1978′s first big custom project hes worked on, adding a fresh color scheme, a new mix of body parts, and some new gear. If this is what we get on the first run of his work, I cant wait to see what he does with a little practice!

Slaughters_Renegade has posted 3 sets of amazing customs. He gave us his take on “25th style” Dreadnoks, some nice figure modifications, and “Joes that didn’t get the 25th treatment “.
