With the release of the August G.I. Joe comic solicitations, we can put the “unknown” female figure mystery to a rest. A cover image of Brian Reed and Joe Suitor’s G.I. JOE SPECIAL: HELIX has ,without out a shadow of a doubt, confirmed the “mystery” figure to be none other than Helix. Once thought to be a female version of Dial-Tone, this figure made quite a stir in the Joe Community. Amidst all the fan confusion, an interview with IDW’s Andy Schmidt came to light where we learned of a new female character named Helix that would be introduced into the comic world. Though there is no official word from Hasbro on this figure, I think we can officially say the identity of this figure has been solved. The question of whether or not we will ever see a release of this figure still remains.

Thanks to GeneralsJoes for the info.

Terror Drome Staff Writer, Josh Dahl, has posted a great in-depth review of the new G.I. Joe: Origins #3 comic from IDW Publishing.
Hama trusts us to know these characters by what they do, not by what they say or by what is said about them. So, when Hawk gives a still-wounded Snake-Eyes his first (kinda) orders and they amount to “Go get me a Coke”, the tension is almost maddening.

cmderinchief of JoeBattleLines has posted some new images of his recently acquired mystery figure. When images of this figure first appeared it was widely speculated the figure was a new representation of Dial-Tone, but an interview with IDW’s Andy Schmidt popped up at Newsarama with info that this might be the new Helix character from the IDW comics. No official word has been released on this figure, so the rumor mill is still churning.
Also in August, in conjunction with the new, awesome Electronic Arts G.I. JOE video game, we’re putting out a one-shot special on the new character, Helix.
