Sideshow Collectibes Reveals 12″ Flint

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Sideshow Collectibles has revealed that Flint will be next up in their 12″ G.I. Joe line, with pre-orders coinciding with the January 28th newsletter. Sideshow has opted for an older and “grittier” look with the upcoming figure, much like we saw with their 12″ Duke. No official date has been released as to when we can expect this figure, so stay tuned for updates.

Fans of Devil’s Due G.I. Joe comic series are familiar with artitst Mike Bear. Probably one of the more popular artists to work on the brand in recent years. Well over on Mike’s Deviant Art page, he has posted what looks like artwork for upcoming Resolute packaging of some kind. Whether that is single cards or for the 7-pack remains to be seen. You can see the following Resolute Duke, Firefly and Zartan artwork by Mike Bear. Mike comments for each that are “Art for GI Joe toy packages.” Check them out, what do you think?

New 2010 Pursuit of Cobra Vehicles Revealed?

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

The infamous toyssir898 has posted some interesting images of what could possibly be some upcoming vehicles for the Pursuit of Cobra line. Featured in the images are a Joe and Cobra version of a retooled Sigma 6 Iron Hammer, and 2 version of the classic A.W.E. Striker. The Iron Hammer corresponds with the reveal that Hasbro gave us at the 2009 JoeCon. Included with the vehicles is what looks to be Duke(?) and a new version of WildWeasel(?).

Also posted are some prototypes of the A.W.E. Striker that are pretty interesting. If you notice, printed on the hood is “InGen” which was the name of John Hammond’s corporation in Jurassic Park, not to mention the “JP” logo printed on the side. The included figures in the images are also a mystery. They appear to be kit bashed version of the Toys “R” Us exclusive Fire Fly figure. As of right now, none of these images are “official” or “confirmed” by Hasbro, in addition to there being no official information on possible release dates.

Early Images of 2010 G.I. Joe “Past & Present” 2-Packs

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

gijoe-past-and-present-logoAs 2009 comes to an end, and we officially wrap up the holiday season, it looks like one last gift has emerged just in the nick of time. Thanks to Justin over at GeneralsJoes, and Gyre-Viper of HissTank, we get an early look at some possible “Past and Present” 2-packs as well as possible 12″ Rise of Cobra figures. The 2 packs are a mixture of Joes from the mid 2000’s and current Rise of Cobra figures. The 12″ figures, confirmed by Hasbro to be cancelled in 2010, may just be early prototypes of figures that never made the cut. As of right now we have no “official” information regarding these figures. According to GeneralsJoes, the latest GIJCC news letter will be featuring the 2-packs, and will hopefully give us further information on their release. As for now, everything remains to be speculation.

New G.I. Joe Cartoon In The Works

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

misc-joeThe boys over at moonbase2 have posted a nice podcast featuring an interview with Michale Bell, the voice of Duke from the original G.I. Joe cartoon series. In the interview, we learn that Bell is auditioning for the role of General Hawk in a new 26 episode G.I. Joe cartoon. No other information is known as of right now in regards to a release date, other cast or character info, or a story line. It can only be speculated that it will probably tie in with Rise of Cobra in some way, or possibly coincide with the release of the Pursuit of Cobra line. Until we here official word, anything is possible.

Pictorial Review of the Rise of Cobra TRU Exclusive Cobra Troop Builder 5-Pack

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

scoops-dark-room-filesWe recently added a pictorial review of the Toys R Us Exclusive Troop Builder 1 of 2 G.I. Joe 5-Pack to Scoop’s Dark Room Files, well now we have the second of two, the Cobra Troop Builder 5-Pack for you to check out. Put together with mostly repaints of their single-carded released, this set contains: an Elite-Viper, a M.A.R.S. Industries Officer, a M.A.R.S. Industries Trooper, a Neo-Viper and Duke (in Disguise). Once again, this is a “troop builder” set, so you won’t find many new figures, but definitely a great way to expand your Cobra army at an affordable expense of $19.99.
