Hasbro Official Images of 2010 Pursuit of Cobra and Resolute Figures & Vehicles

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Toy Fair 2010 LogoHasbro has sent out official images for the 2010 Pursuit of Cobra line-up showing the first 2 waves of figures and vehicles. Some of the images shown are the single carded “City Strike” Alley-Viper & “Desert Battle” Dusty figures, along with “City Strike” Beachhead, “Jungle Assault” Jungle-Viper and “Arctic Threat” Snake Eyes. A lot of the 2010 line-up has been retooled from what we saw at last year’s Joe Con. Most notably is the absence of the Rise of Cobra actor likeness. They also sent out images showing the Resolute 7-Packs coming later this year. Both lines were debuted today at Toy Fair 2010 in New York City. You can view the official images after the jump.

Well over on Mike’s Deviant Art page, he has posted what looks like artwork for upcoming Resolute packaging of some kind. Whether that is single cards or for the 7-pack remains to be seen. You can see the following Resolute Duke, Firefly and Zartan artwork by Mike Bear. Mike comments for each that are “Art for GI Joe toy packages.” Check them out, what do you think?

Walmart Selling “G.I. Joe: Resolute” for only $5?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

gijoe-resolute-logo-newWith G.I. Joe Resolute DVD released Many of you have rushed out to purchase it. Well you may want to reconsider where you purchase it! Walmart is selling the movie for $5 at some locations. Five. Dollars. That is it. It isn’t clear if this is a sale, a mistake in pricing or their permanent price for the movie. We’ve had a few reports of $5 pricing on the West Coast to back this up, but it doesn’t appear to be wide spread…yet. Is it a screw up at these specific store locations? Are they mistakingly selling the Resolute DVD for the new rollback price of the single carded figures? Either way check your local Walmart for this ridiculously low price and take advantage of it now while its available if you can.

And if you already did purchase the movie from somewhere else, simply buy it at Walmart for $5 and return the unopened copy to where ever you bought your first copy at with its specific receipt. Some stores may even do a price match! So do the leg work and save yourself $15 at least!

Review of “G.I.Joe: Resolute” DVD

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

reviews-coffeeTerror Drome staffer Joshdahl here, and I got my hands on the highly anticipated DVD release of G.I.Joe: Resolute. It is hard to imagine that there could be someone in the Joe collector community who has not already seen this movie for free on the internet or on Adult Swim. It begs the question, then: Should you buy this “cow” when you have already gotten the “milk” for free?

“No question. This IS G.I.Joe as cool as we always wanted it to be. This is the version that we were not quite smart enough to imagine when we were romping around on dirt piles and making explosion noises. The bad guys are really bad and the good guys are really good. The action is exciting and the animation looks really good.”

This “milk” is awesome, and the “cow” ain’t too bad to look at either.

customs-iconTerror Drome member Sparks has posted some of his latest work. Wanting to fill in some gaps until Hasbro releases the “official” Resolute 7-Packs next year, Sparks created some customs of Resolute Storm Shadow and Zartan. He also fixed the weak version of Resolute Gung Ho we got in the Rise of Cobra Walmart 2-Pack. Along with these great Resolute customs, he has a modern update to Leatherneck using a Rise of Cobra PIT Trooper. Check out these great customs and comment in our forums.
